Objectives

CITB is reviewing the Health, safety and environment (HS&E) test to ensure that it continues to contribute towards a qualified workforce with the right knowledge, skills and training. The Mobile unit is booked by ACT and comes to Brechin. Members then send on delegates from companies across Angus to test. Saving on time, parking and administration.

Content

All tests last for 45 minutes and have 50 questions. The test now includes two new question styles. The content of the questions will not change but a few questions may be presented in a different way.  The test will still be made up of behavioural case studies and knowledge questions to check your understanding of how to behave and raise your awareness of health, safety and environmental issues.

All tests include the behavioural case study questions and the five core knowledge sections of:

  • Legal and management
  • Health and welfare
  • General safety
  • High risk activities
  • Environment

Course Duration / Other Info

The Operatives test ensures workers have a minimum level of health, safety and environmental awareness before going on site.

Qualifications / Certification

Once a test has been passed a CSCS card can be applied for. Depending on skills/qualifications (or in conjunction with 1 day H&S Awareness pass Certificate) the required card can be applied for thereafter.
